What we believe

The assembly first met at 33 Undercliff Road, which was registered as a place of worship on 9th May 1903.  It was removed as a place of worship on the 26th May 1926 and the assembly moved into its current premises at 2 Undercliff Road.  This building was built in 1901 for the Presbyterian Church of Wales, who moved out in 1924.

The full deity of Christ, His substitutionary death on the Cross, which was a full atonement for sin thereby rendering human merit or achievement ineffective for salvation - therefore salvation and justification by Grace through Faith - Luke 1:35; Isa 53:5; 1 Peter 3:18, Eph 2:8,9.

The necessity of the Holy Spirit’s work in regeneration and sanctification and his indwelling of the believer - Titus 3:5; Rom. 8:9.

We believe in:

The Bible as the inspired and infallible word of God and its final authority in all matters of faith and practice - 2 Tim.3:16, 17.

The Fatherhood of God, applying to those redeemed by the atoning work of Christ and born of the Holy Spirit - John 1:12; John 16:7,8.

The sinfulness of man, both by nature and practice - Rom. 3:23; Isa 53:6.

Baptism, by immersion, of believers, not as essential to Salvation or Communion, but as a

public witness of discipleship and newness of life - Rom. 6:3, 4.

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as the hope of the Church - John 14:3, Titus 2:13; 1 Thes 4:13-18.

Everlasting life for the Redeemed and the eternal punishment of unbelievers - John 3:36; Romans 6:23.
