The hope that

Everyone despairs at one time or another due to the challenges of life. We sustain wounds which may not heal and deficiencies which may not be corrected during our life time on this earth but the Lord Jesus Christ has brought hope for the present and for a better life in the future, and this is for EVERYONE who calls upon him.

In some of the Psalms in the Bible,  people plead for help from God when life seems dark. In Psalm 42:5, King David said the following:

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance”.

Here King David is expressing his hope in God and the desire to praise God for his help.

There is hope in God for those who know him through his beloved Son Jesus Christ. These people who know God are called Christians. Although Christians live in this world, they know that one day they will be in heaven. This hope puts a smile in their hearts, and on their faces.

Hope in God’s promises gives the Christian  composure and self assurance, and inner strength, because

he or she knows that God’s Word is true and never fails to come to pass. God’s Word can be firmly trusted at all times.

If you are not a Christian, you can become one by asking the Lord Jesus Christ  for pardon and for the  new life which all Christians possess. With this new life comes peace with God, freedom from guilt of sin, God’s presence to cheer and to guide you through good times as well as through dark and difficult times. Then, there is the blessed hope of a future secured in heaven. What a blessed hope!

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord.”

(Jeremiah 17:7).
